I just pulled out one of my favorite snack recipes to use up some pita bread that was about to take a turn for the worst: pita chips. My brother told me how to make these years ago and everyone in my family enjoys them. Here's the pita chip recipe for you to enjoy...
Ingredients:
Pita Bread
Olive Oil
Salt
Black Pepper (optional)
*Preheat oven to 165ºC (325ºF)
Step 1: Cut the pita bread and spread it on a baking sheet.
Step 2: Drizzle the pieces with olive oil.
Step 3: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Step 4: Eat and enjoy!

These look and sound so great...and easy, too. I've always regretted having to throw away stale pita bread. Now I don't have to.

DeleteThose look great. My kids love dipping things, especially if they are crispy!
ReplyDeleteI love making pita chips. It's a great alternative to store bought chips with less preservatives, etc. Our kids love dipping them in salsa, dips and hummus. As a special treat, I sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon and sugar if we're craving something sweet.
ReplyDeleteThese look so yummy! I love that you've made your own, too. Just the other day I read that a serving of Stacy's Pita Chips now has almost an entire day's worth of salt. Whoa, right?
ReplyDeleteI'd love if you'd come join my How To Tuesday link party, too.
